(1) Renovation of Horizontal Geodetic Datum of Myanmar and Establishment of Myanmar Datum 2000
cooperating with FINNMAP (FM-International)
(2) Production of 1:50,000 Scale 16 UTM map sheets as pilot project in Meiktila area cooperating with

(3) Production of (53) UTM map sheets in delta area in the year 2000 under JICA assistance
(4) Participating in Framework Agreement for the Mutual Recognition of Surveying Qualifications
between ASEAN countries
(5) Joint Surveying and Inspection of international boundary with all neighbouring countries.
Survey Department takes responsibility for boundary demarcation with neighbouring countries. Myanmar
has five neighbouring countries namely China, Lao PDR, Thailand, Bangladesh and India.
